About a month ago I went to Blackcomb for the first time this season. I must be getting old because my legs could not keep up. These shot below were my favorite for the day.
Because it was a bright sunny day I decided to bring out my polarized filters. After I took the first couple of shots I realized with so much snow reflecting the sun my camera was metering the light way too strong. The camera was trying to balance the exposure of the snow and not the person I was trying to take a picture of. So instead of changing my metering to "spot metering" I just adjusted the exposure to +1.66 and it seemed to do the trick. The subjects were in good exposure but the snow was completely blown out. Which is fine because no one care how detailed the snow looks.
