One Step Closer, to being better.

I realize the blog has gotten boring ever since I came back from Korea.  What do you expect!!! I'm back in Vancouver and everyone works during the day. However when the weekend arrives all my friends come out and play. On the weekend I went to a softball game and I wanted to try to see if I had any action photographic skills. It turns out I really suck. I would like to say I need a better telephoto lens, but how can I justify myself to buy a $2000 Canon 70-200mm f2.8L IS lens if I have never even sold a shot. I guess I'll keep practicing with shitter equipment and when I get better lenses it will be worth my while.

After the game I went with everyone to Milestones. I tried to eat healthy so I ordered a salad. What a huge mistake. What they saying about salad is true, "You don't make friends with salad". This salad was an abortion of a salad, with combination of certain sauces and vegetables that led me to believe the head chef was trying to poison me. Word of advise don't order the Tai Salad at Milestones.

On the long weekend I decided to give the bike a spin but the weather was so perfect I thought this would be a good opportunity to take some shots of my friend riding his bike instead. I thought it was going to be easy but holy fuck was I wrong. Firstly my telephoto lens is kind of shitty (as mention above) and does a really slow job tracking the image as it moves. So when the bike would rip past you at 100km/h my lens would be about 1 second too slow tracking the bike making all the shots out of focus. I had to go to manual mode and wait for the motorcycle to enter my field of focus and then I would take the shot. I will admit all the skills I ever learned came into play that day.

These were my favorite shots

This is me!! I setup the camera and told my friend where to shoot from. I also said when here hears a honk from my horn get ready to shoot. He did a pretty good job. Only if that car wasn't there.

I think you're pretty good. But what do I know. With my 1 hour crash course in photography.
